Raku II—It’s Japanese! Little known to most, Raku can mean joy, comfortable, relaxing, easy-going, fun and pleasurable—all of which the owner hopes you associate with the experience at Raku II. Like the name, the restaurant is very simple, but aims to please. The interior is complete with inherited, preserved wood benches making it a cozy, homey atmosphere. The food is fresh and creative and caters to both vegetarians and mothers-to-be. The chef suggests the Cinco de Mayo roll…the hottest in sales and taste!

Took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive. The ramen miso soup we ordered was no longer hot. The sushi and especially the fried soft shell crab were soggy. Flavor wasn't terrible, but textures were bad. Perhaps sushi is too delicate for carry-out? Either way, won't order from here again.

The food was five stars. Docked one star for only delivering one set up chopsticks. Will definitely order from them again. So far, the best Sushi I've had on the Upper West Side.

Incredibly rude staff who wouldn't help me with an allergy problem I was worried about. They said the couldn't tell me if their was soybean oil in their mayo because it would be "giving away their special ingredient." One of the most absurd things I've ever heard. I didn't want to give away their recipe, I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't get sick! Even for New York, this was an unpleasant way to be treated.

They send me a california roll instead of the spicy salmon roll. When i called back they said they were closing so they didn't do anything. Bad experience.

This restaurant is very very bad, not their food (good) but their service is just terrible. The first time they delivered my order after almost 3 hours, the second time they said they couldn't deliver what they delivered the first time because the price increased.

I've ordered from Raku more than 20 times. Almost all restaurants screw up an order every once in awhile, but Raku has a perfect track record so far. I highly recommend the rolls, sushi, and lunch specials

Raku is my favorite UWS sushi place - tons of special rolls. I always order the Iso Salmon and Sakura - a great combo. Everything is always of great quality and very fresh. Their delivery is fast, and the delivery people are always friendly - even in the pouring rain! This is my go-to sushi ordering spot.

Fabulous sushi. A real hidden jem on the UWS. I have eaten at Raku on 76th several times, and the delivered sushi is just as great and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try the Kani Roll!

Raku is my go-to Japanese restaurant. The chicken teriyaki bento boxes are amazing. A delicious arrangement, super fresh, the sushi is good as well. Much better than some of the sub-par Japanese / sushi places around the area.

The sushi is pretty high quality for this neighborhood. The veggie rolls are too big for bite size but they are tasty also. Love the rainbow roll.

This is a great neighborhood sushi joint. Their sushi is fresh enough, cheap enough, and much cheaper than most places in the UWS. Even their appetizers are good, like the age-tofu.

After an hour I had to walk over to Raku to see where our order was. They said they'd been so busy that it'd taken that long. The restaurant didn't look crazy busy. That'll be the last time I order from there.

I can't tell you about the food, because it isn't here yet. They quoted 15-30 minutes on Seamless, but it has been an hour and 10 minutes and the food is not here. We called 30 minutes ago and they said, "It's on its way. Already left. 5-10 minutes."

I know I'm spoiled from generally eating my sushi in Murray Hill, but this was honestly some of the absolute worst sushi I've had in my life. The tuna neither tasted nor looked like tuna, the salad dressing tasted more like soy sauce than the ginger dressing I'm used to, the spicy salmon mostly just tasted like mayonnaise, and to top it all off, everything was served warm (despite the fact I'm very close to the restaurant and had no soup or anything to warm it up). I'd advise you to look for sushi somewhere else.

I've tried several sushi places on the UWS, and Raku II is the best, hands down - the fish is always fresh; they have very tasty rolls with tons of variety; the prices are reasonable; and the delivery is quick, even on a rainy night.

Food is fine at a good price point. But don't believe the estimated delivery time. It took 50 minutes when it said 15-30 minutes. I find this really unacceptable.

This is by far the best sushi delivery option on the UWS. It always tastes fresh and I've never had to worry about the quality of their fish.

The delivery time was over 65 minutes, so the food was not really the quality we expected. The overall quality of food was decent (maybe a little generous), but not good enough for the competitive Sushi/Japanese market. Many dishes came with a lot of Mayo, which was too rich, and an easy way to cover up the lack of flavour. The price was too high for what the restaurant offered, and I am not cheap when it comes to food.
